Celebrations this weekend to mark the 350th anniversary of the readmission of Jews to England have been snubbed by a senior Jewish organization because of London Mayor Ken Livingstone involvement.
The Independent reported Thursday that The Association of Jewish Ex-Servicemen and Women (Ajex) are boycotting the Leicester Square festivities, Simcha on the Square, because the mayor's office helps fund it.
"We will not support it," chairman Harold Newman told The Independent.
"I've told all of our members that any of them who wish to attend are welcome to do so, but because of Ken Livingstone's track record and his comments about Jews, and his failure to subsequently apologize, we don't want anything to do with him. He is not someone we wish to be associated with."

Livingstone sparked the rumpus when reporter Oliver Finegold questioned him as he left a party for a gay politician last year. When the reporter identified himself as working for the Evening Standard, a paper loathed by the mayor, Livingstone asked: "What did you do? Were you a German war criminal?"
The Jewish community was furious, but Livingstone refused to apologies. He also denied any bias against Jews, and said accusations of anti-Semitism were being raised "to give weight to charges which would otherwise be too trivial to merit the gigantic fuss that has been made about this brief private exchange."
